The Panache is a stylishly refurbished 3-bedroom house in Nelson, nestled in the beautiful Taff Valley between Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfil. It is the only property in our portfolio close to Bike Park Wales (12 minutes) and the Brecon Beacons, making it a unique base for both contractors working in the Welsh valleys and adventure seekers exploring the trails. The house sleeps 6 across three bedrooms, with a modern kitchen, cosy living room with Smart TV, and free street parking for vans, cars, and bikes. The Panache combines valley tranquillity with easy road access to Cardiff (25 min), Newport, and Merthyr — perfect for teams on valley infrastructure projects or groups heading to Bike Park Wales, Zip World Tower, and the Taff Trail.
Nelson is a friendly valleys village with local pubs (The Dynevor Arms, The Nelson Inn), a fish and chip shop, Spar convenience store, and community parks. The village sits on the edge of stunning valley countryside, with walking trails through Parc Penallta (home of the famous Sultan the Pit Pony sculpture) right on the doorstep.
From Cardiff, drive north on the A470 for approximately 25 minutes. For Merthyr Tydfil, the A470 south reaches Nelson in around 15 minutes. From Newport, take the A468/A472 through Caerphilly. The nearest railway station is Ystrad Mynach (15 min drive), with trains to Cardiff and the valleys.

“We had a wonderful stay. The house was lovely and exactly as per the photos. It was stocked with everything we required. The location was well situated for easy access to Brecon Beacons (~30 minutes drive). Check-in was easy, with clear instructions. Plenty of parking in the front. Kavitha was lovely as well. “The Panache is a beautiful home and has everything that you could need. We stayed for 2.5 weeks due to a house fire and I can't thank Kavitha enough for all of her help and for allowing us to stay here and giving us much needed family space.
